In October 1962, Blandy was on one of the first ships to get underway for the Cuban Quarantine and gained the distinction of forcing a Russian submarine to surface. Below is a photo of the sub with Blandy in the background. This photo was distrbuted at the last reunion and we are looking for more photos from the quarantine area to be submitted.
